Some scenes from a PreK 3s class this week! Mrs. Lane’s class prepared a yummy fruit salad - each student helped cut up fruit. We are so proud of these talented chefs! These students are also learning about colors and today they experimented with mixing primary colors to make secondary colors. It’s fun to see all the fine motor skills at work!
Wesley Prep's PreK 4s classes participated in a week of apple investigation. Students weighed and measured their apples, performed a sink or float experiment, and identified all the different colors of their sample apples! These types of science lessons promote problem solving, curiosity, hand-eye coordination, listening, and sensory skills. Science is COOL & FUN!

Mrs. Pipes took our Second Grade scientists outside for a lesson on living vs. non-living things. Using observation (a key step in the scientific method), they spotted living things such as turtles, birds, insects, trees, and various plants. For non-living things, they found rocks, water, weather, and more. The students recorded their findings in their scientific journals for further study next week!

Our toddlers celebrated the start of school and the start of fall by creating apple art. Early Childhood Art develops lots of important skills - color recognition, creativity, multi-sensory engagement, and fine-motor skills. For example, the "pincer grasp" is a fine-motor milestone that involves holding an object between the thumb and index finger. It's a significant milestone because it demonstrates the coordination of the brain and muscles.

Daily Chapel is a great way to start the elementary school day. This week some sixth graders entertained our kindergartners with story time while waiting for the service to begin.

Our Fifth Graders take on a leadership role alongside many staff members each morning by acting as our Carpool Safety Crew.
