WP Kindergarteners welcomed a visiting scientist from High Touch High Tech this week and learned all about plants! These students participated in experiments about helicopter seeds, chlorophyll, and they planted hydroponic beans! In-house field trips are fun!

Third Grade is back in the Science Lab, studying renewable and non-renewable natural resources. They talked about how water wheels turn the energy of moving water into power. The students used everyday materials to make their own functional water wheels. Science is cool!

Wesley Prep Primer students participated in the "Magic Milk" experiment during Science Lab today - students were able to witness colored soap molecules attaching to the fat molecules in the whole milk. Our Primer, First, and Second Graders gave an amazing performance of "A Little Night Music" - this program was a great way to show off all they have learned about music so far. Wesley Prep's music program incorporates the Orff Method, this enabled the students to take an active role in arranging one of the pieces of music included in the show. BRAVO!

The event was the culmination of a six-week research project which allowed the students to immerse themselves in the lives of their subjects. It was Game Time in the Third Grade Classrooms during Night at the Museum last week - the students created fun midway games using their knowledge of simple machines. Each game incorporated at least two of the simple machines (inclined plane, wedge, screw, lever, pulley, and wheel-and-axle). Hands-on Learning is cool!
