Wesley Prep Second Graders are learning about how to find the Mean, Median, Mode, and Range of a data set. Students collected data on their "wing spans" and will organize the info on a plot graph. This will lead them to find the mean and median wing span of each class. These Panthers are obviously way above average!

Wesley Prep Third Graders are mastering fractions by practicing in lots of fun ways! Students use colorful counters, utilize task cards, and hone their skills through IXL on their chrome books. Hands-on learning makes math lessons easier to comprehend.

Wesley Prep Fourth Graders are always ready for their next challenge! These students are taking a turn in a new leadership role by running the Tech Booth during morning chapel (helping to communicate Mister Bruce's message)! Parents are always welcome to join us.

We're all smiles in Sixth grade! Our students have completed the Seventh grade application process, potential school visits, and admissions testing. We are so excited to learn where they'll attend school soon. Stay tuned for the exciting news...we are so proud of our upcoming Graduates! Once a Panther, Always a Panther!

Our Kindergarten classes experienced an exciting "in-house" field trip today! A scientist from High Touch High Tech of Dallas helped conduct experiments related to weather and climate! From atmospheric pressure to thunderstorms and tornadoes, these students are ready to be mini-meteorologists next!

Our Wesley Prep Nursery Babies have been busy this week with fun activities and sensory play. Playing with ice stimulates the senses, including touch, sight, hearing, and (sometimes!) taste!

We are going to spotlight Third Grade - starting with a WP tradition: The Haiku Hike. Stepping out of the classroom, these students were inspired by nature. Their Haiku poems were thoughtful and their words were beautiful. Very impressive work!

Wesley Prep Toddlers had fun "painting" with ice today! This sensory activity was a cool way to practice fine motor skills and experience what happens to an ice cube as it melts. Some little penguins helped by skating across the ice to create the beautiful artwork.

Congratulations to our Robotics Teams who participated in the First LEGO League Challenge on Saturday - the theme this year is "Masterpiece"- focusing on the arts. Our teams performed well and scored highly. Stay tuned for more...

Wesley Prep Toddlers were very busy this morning playing in the "snow" - this sensory activity was a perfect way to practice fine motor skills, creativity, and imagination! The snow was cold and fluffy to touch and it was fun to shovel and scoop into different containers.

Mrs. Lane's PreK 3s class learned how to make the perfect cup of hot cocoa! How do you like your cocoa? How may marshmallows do you want? With or without whipped cream? Whichever way you like it, it is perfect for you!

WP Fourth Graders taught robots how to ski this week! The robot is called a Sphero and it uses degrees for directional coding. Students can add lights and sounds to the programming and control the speed and rolling time. STEM lessons in the Innovation Lab are fun and cool! #WeAreWP #wesleyprep #InnovationLab #STEM #HandsOnLearning #SpheroRobots #Enrichment

Our Third Graders took an adventure across the globe - presenting the results of an in-depth research project which delved into the culture, history, language, cuisine, and geography of countries around the world. Each student took their new-found knowledge and presented it to their classmates in the form of a beautiful travel brochure. Joyful Learning creates Confident Students!

Mrs. Fahrenbrook stepped in for Mister Bruce this morning to lead us in Elementary Chapel. The focus this week is "Perseverance" - she shared an inspiring story about a famous WWI racing pigeon who saved 200 men by delivering an important message. This amazing pigeon's name was Cher Ami - a perfect example of bravery and perseverance!

Our PreK 3s classes have been busy learning all about the cold weather - including snowflakes, snowmen, snow, and animals that live in arctic climates! The students celebrated this lesson with "Hibernation Day" (pretending to hibernate and huddle together in a cave with their special stuffed animal friends)! Science is Fun!

Do you want to melt a Snowman? Our PreK 4s students participated in a hands-on science lesson about the 3 forms of water (solid, liquid and gas). They built a snowman out of ice and then watched him melt away! Students talked about what would cause him to melt and then what would happen to the water once he was completely melted. So fun!!!

Mrs. Taylor's PreK 4s class has been studying arctic animals and hibernation. To experience the warmth of blubber, students were invited to put one hand in a bowl of ice water, and the other in a sleeve of blubber and ice water to compare! (The blubber is Crisco.) Polar bears are built for the weather much better than we are. Brrr!
