Wesley Prep Sixth Graders and Cafe Momentum Interns hosted a Christmas Party yesterday for shelter guests at Austin Street Center. The party was full of hot cocoa, cookies to decorate, and festive fun! And thank you to Mister Bruce for providing the music! WP Second Graders traveled to Target to purchase items for Six Angels from the Salvation Army's "Forgotten Angels" tree. In addition to spreading Christmas Cheer, the students paid for the gifts with the funds they raised during their recent donut fundraiser. From top to bottom - this outreach project was full of important lessons (from communication and marketing to budgeting and math)!

PreK 4 students made groovy, Christmas lava lamps this week (and learned an exciting scientific lesson in the process). The overall lesson, that oil and water do not mix, gave an age-appropriate and festive spin on a more complex scientific concept. Science is Cool and Hands-On Learning is fun!

Our Kindergarten students were visited by their Third Grade buddy classes to create a Thanksgiving Turkey with colorful feathers. Each feather had notes about what they are thankful for this year. We have lots to be thankful for (for example: God, Family, Food, School, Friends, My Dog, and Donuts)!

The Adventure Continues for our 4th Graders, who visited the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge this week!
