WESLEY PREP DIFFERENCE
There are many attributes of our school that separate us from other schools and we are especially proud of the few highlighted below...
Small In Size
We are intentionally small in terms of both class size and overall school size. Research has shown that smaller class size during the early years provides great rewards in learning. In preschool, when loving contact and nurturing attention is so important, our ratios are as low as 7:1 and only go up to 14:1 with our oldest preschoolers. In the elementary program, we do not go larger than 15:1 due to the importance of small class size and its relationship to quality teacher/student interactions. SEE MORE...
Faith & Character Development
The school’s youngest learn to sing Jesus Loves Me and are taught that God protects them and loves them unconditionally. Preschool students attend chapel twice a month to listen to a short lesson and give thanks to God by singing and being happy. As the child develops and can commit their attention to longer lessons, chapel attendance increases. All Elementary classes begin their school day with a devotional chapel service conducted by our School Chaplain, Mister Bruce. SEE MORE...
Experiential & Project-Based Learning
We believe that children, and people of any age, learn best by doing. When students experience the material, they are much more likely to not only retain the information but take their learning to the next level. Our youngest learners are engaged to touch, smell, feel and engage in their environment. As the children progress into the upper grades, their experiences are more developed and richer as they are encouraged to take on the persona of those they are studying, visually experience the surroundings as they would have been and use all of their senses to immerse themselves in the subject matter they are learning. Beyond The Classroom
Each grade level is filled with engaging activities and curriculum-expanding field trips which allow our students to connect the importance of classroom learning with the world around them. Our fourth through sixth graders travel to other cities and even states to continue their learning. SEE MORE...
Sixth Grade Advantage
Research has shown that sixth graders within elementary schools behave and test better than sixth graders in a middle school environment. Because they are not being influenced by middle school and high school students, these eleven and twelve-year-olds have the chance to “act their age.” SEE MORE...
